Clinician terms
Version 2026-05-06 · Beta release
This is a placeholder document for the private beta.Final terms are in legal review and will replace this before public launch. By accepting, you confirm you've read this draft and understand the posture below.
1. What Pacing is
Pacing is a wellness companion tool used inside an active therapeutic relationship between you and a client. It supports between-session practice (diary cards, target-behavior tracking, emotion logging) and surfaces what the client logs back to you in a pre-session digest. Pacing is not a medical device, not an EMR, and not a substitute for therapy.
2. Crisis posture
Pacing is not a crisis service and you are not on call within it.Clients have access to an "urgent flag" on a diary entry, which sends you a courtesy email and an in-app notification. The flag does not promise response time. Clients are explicitly directed to 988, Crisis Text Line, and their personal safety plan at the moment they consider flagging an entry. We will surface the same notice at every relevant touchpoint.
3. Your role with client data
You read and use what your clients log inside Pacing as part of your professional clinical work with them. Pacing's architecture is built to HIPAA standards (row-level security, encryption in transit and at rest, audit logging on PHI access, BAA-eligible vendors). The MVP launches with wellness-app framing while we complete legal review and sign a Notice of Privacy Practices, after which we'll flip the framing without re-platforming.
4. Scope of the relationship
Pacing is for solo practitioners working 1:1 with adult clients during the MVP. Multi-clinician arrangements, IOP / group practice features, and clients under 18 are not supported. If your practice or a client falls outside that scope, please let us know rather than improvising.
5. Disconnect and data retention
Either you or your client can end the therapeutic relationship inside Pacing. After ending, the client retains read-only access for 30 days to export their data, then it is purged from our active systems. Audit logs of access events are retained as required.
6. What we don't do
We don't sell client or clinician data. We don't share it with advertisers. We don't use it to train AI models, now or later. The optional AI session-prep summary in the digest is generated on demand from your view and is not stored.
7. Beta caveats
During the private beta, expect product changes, occasional downtime, and direct conversations with us about what's working. You can stop using Pacing at any time. Beta-period pricing is locked in for your first year.
